I have a passion for collaborative partnerships with patients to offer life-giving solutions for a variety of mental health issues. As a licensed clinician of over 20 years, my work is about guiding patients toward meaningful life changes through assessment and treatment in a caring and supportive environment. I have experience working with individuals, couples, and families in a variety of settings.
My areas of expertise include depressive disorders, anxiety disorders, behavioral issues, trauma, spirituality, grief and loss, self-esteem and body image problems, end of life issues, transitions, and work-life balance. I have a particular interest in working with couples and understand the many challenges of making a marriage thrive.
I received my Doctor of Philosophy degree (Ph.D.) from Fuller Graduate School of Psychology in Pasadena, California. I completed a full-year pre-doctoral internship program at the Veterans Affairs Greater Los Angeles and Sepulveda Ambulatory Care Center in North Hills, CA. Other experiences include working as a research clinician at the ADHD and Autism Genetic Studies at the UCLA Department of Psychiatry and as a staff psychologist and clinical supervisor at the Gateways Adolescent Outpatient Program in Los Angeles, CA, serving the low-income, high risk youths and their families. After relocating to West Monroe, LA, I established a private practice, providing services to children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families. Prior to opening a full-time private practice in Gaithersburg, MD, I worked for a company for several years, providing mental/behavioral health evaluations and treatment to older adults residing assisted-living and long-term care facilities.
I am married and have three beautiful daughters. I enjoy playing the piano, reading, trying out new recipes in the kitchen, working out at the gym, spending time with my family, getting together with friends for a game night, and being part of various groups that enhance my faith and allow me to grow spiritually.
